Vlad Joins the Koval's Journey to the YO-257/San Pedro Shipwrecks -- Perfect Conditions Prevail !!!!

Aloha Dive Fans

On Wednesday morning Gary Koval and his family were joined by Vladimir (from the Czech Republic) with hopes of good conditions as we headed toward the YO-257 & San Pedro Shipwrecks. This day was the Koval clan's 2nd Hawaiian Scuba Diving Adventure with Rainbow Scuba -- You KNOW we love repeat customers! For Vladimir it was his 1st dive not only with me -- but -- his 1st dive in Hawaii. Not to worry though, my man Vlad has over 300 dives under his weight belt. Not to mention one of the nicest cameras I've ever seen! He's a seasoned diver who's travels underwater have taken him all over the globe. So, the pressure was on to make this one of his BEST dives to date. I of course had no doubt in my mind that we would not disappoint -- Hawaii's Shipwrecks are some of the finest in the world.

(Vlad with Gary,John, Carolyn & Rebecca Koval -- all EAGER and EXCITED to get underway!)

The trip out of Kewalo Harbor aboard The Enzo with Captain Mike at the helm was promising from the time we casted off.
I looked at the the grand blue Pacific ocean and smiled because, there was virtually NO wind or surf to speak of -- the visibility in the channel was already crystal clear. ALL GOOD SIGNS!

When we arrived at the dive site -- the YO-257 was visible from the surface 90 feet below us!
I knew we were in for a great dive!

(The Koval's, Vlad and some dude in the foreground with no scuba gear pose for a picture!)

We cut right across to the San Pedro first and Vladimir -- wicked expensive camera in hand -- got a shot of a Spotted Eagle Ray(that I pointed out -- of course!)

(Vlad doin the National Geographic photo-journalist thing!) -- check out that camera!!!!

The San Pedro was an easy swim as there was no current to impede our trip over. We penetrated the shipwreck and stopped for a quick photo near the propeller.

(Vlad and the Kovals just hangin' by the stern of the San Pedro -- 94 feet under!)

Upon crossing back to explore the YO-257   Vlad was astonished at the school of Kaku(Barracuda.)

(Barracuda -- this is my camera's shot -- Vlad's was probably much better -- for the $'s he paid for the camera they better be!)

The second dive of the morning charter took us west towards Ewa Reef -- mooring up at the "Deep Pipe" we headed on a lobster expedition! Guess what we found?

(Gary holds on tight to his 1st "Slipper Lobster" -- don't worry it's July not "Jruly" so I left the bug under the sea -- maybe he'll grow and I'll see him in September!)

My Thanks goes out to The Koval Family from Illinois and to our newest loyal diver Vladimir!

I truly enjoyed diving with you all!!!!

Later that day...

Rainbow Scuba gets to do what we enjoy... Introduce 'NEW" divers to our under-sea playground. On that Wednesday afternoon I met Mike and Sarah from Portland Oregon. They came to Hawaii with family, but, left them at the hotel to come on an afternoon of Discover Scuba Diving with Rainbow Scuba. We were happy to satisfy. I always say "This is going to be the best thing you do while on your vacation in Honolulu! -- Mike and Sara seemed to agree.

(Mike & Sara on a gorgeous day headed to Nautilus Reef)

At first Sara was a little nervous about being in the vast Pacific Ocean -- I assured her that I would watch her like a hawk. It took about 2 minutes for her to adjust to the new environment and equiptment and she was going off down among em'!

(Sara & Mike feeding the fish! -- and looking calm and collected -- mission accomplished!)

We dove 2 sites that afternoon. Took a lot of "Free Pictures" and talked about their next trip to our Paradise in the Pacific!

(just in case you've forgotten their names -- we wrote it down!)

Thanks Mike and Sara I hope to read about your Rainbow Discover Scuba Adventure on TripAdvisor.com (where your reviews count!) -- come back soon and let's get you both PADI OW Certified and go down to one of the two best shipwrecks in Hawaii!

Until I see you all again Under the Sea!
Dive safe and Dive Fun!
